DAILY SHOW
GOOD STUFF
| x |

I don't know what happened to Jon Stewart. He seems to have changed. He no longer pouts with childish petulance. He's laughing for real. It's nice, and I've started to watch his show again.

Last night, the newly-elected Illinois Congressman Rahm Emanuel, who co-authored a book titled "The Plan".....made a guest appearance and made these cutting-edge comparisons between President Roosevelt and President Bush:

Roosevelt inherited
the greatest depression ever,
and turned it into an expansion
-x-
Bush inherited
the greatest expansion ever,
and turned it into a depression.

-----|x|-----

Roosevelt inherited a divided country
and united it
-x-
Bush inherited a united country
and divided it.

WOW!

Melanie Phillips has a nice mention of CNN's Glenn Beck hour, where footage of the film
OBSESSION

Go read her short

Glenn Beck is creating quite a storm with his almost-daily show. I especially enjoy his radio friends, like Dave........who makes a guest appearance, once in a while.

If Beck has not yet discovered the films made by

he might want to check them out.

THEY
"took a meeting"
with
CAIR
/*_*\

C-Span, last night, showed a somewhat unusual presentation during which some of the cast, writers, and producers of the television show "24" were interviewed and then asked questions by their audience.

The "24" people seemed somewhat petulant, but what the hell......they're not supposed to be intellectual giants - they just manufacture entertainment.

I was surprised that the words "truth" or "muslims" were never mentioned, and I remembered with annoyance how they had started out really great by including both "truth" and "muslims" in their once still accurate and therefore fascinating representations, which then, suddenly, ceased to be accurate and fascinating, after which I stopped watching what had become just one more vacuous show.

Finally, someone in the audience sort of indirectly inquired about this, after which a member of the "24" panel sort of indirectly explained the show's changes with this utterly amazing and highly troubling sentence:

"We took a meeting with CAIR."

I knew without knowing, that this is what occurred, back then. But it's still hard to believe that our arrogant producers and directors are such profound cowards, that they would allow their productions to be straightjacketed by

"A meeting with CAIR"

Christmas is back!

What a difference from the way things were a year ago, remember?

Christmas is back in advertising, in TV shows, in Walmarts. It's back with lights, with santa's, with fancy ribbons, and with lots of cards and wrapping paper.

I'm happy.

RANDOM THOUGHTS
AND
OBSERVATIONS
|||

Blair Kamin, a columnist at the Chicago Tribune, has invented a marvellous description for the chaotic architecture of Gehry and Libeskind. He describes their buildings as being

"frozen-in-mid-earthquake"

-----|||-----

A developer of upscale housing in Mexico,
placed this sign in front of his project:

Welcome
to the
First World!

-----|||-----

President Bush bestowed his executive pardon on a turkey, that as a result, won't have to be killed, cooked, and eaten.

I wish he had bestowed his executive pardon on the 2 border patrol agents who were given jail sentences for having defended our nation against drug-smuggling criminals.

-----|||-----

Monk to his nurse:

"Can I be the one with all the problems?"

-----|||-----

Lebanon's Hezbollah terrorists who are reported to have received more than 30,000 rockets from Syria, during the past few months, walked out on the government that had so graciously included them, then demanded that the entire rest of that government be scrapped. When no one jumped at their command, they assassinated Lebanon's leading Christian Minister by shooting him point-blank.

Hamas, meanwhile, after receiving 165 million dollars from our two-faced buddies in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Kuwait, and The Emirates, is ready to start the planned, 3-prong war against Israel, that they've all been longing to initiate.

While all this is happening right in front of everyone's eyes, the stommerikken in the West are saying that they want to have intellectual conversations with all the terrorist entities that threaten the entire rest of the world.

How schtoopid and cowardly
can some people get?

CHICAGO
PUBLIC
ART
---\\\+O+///---

There seems to be more public art in Chicago, than in any other US city. It's nice. I love the concept. Except........except.......this gigantic
CALDER STABILE
is a monstrosity in every way. He should probably have stuck with mobiles, because those were all beautiful, and that's what he was great at.

Then there's this
PICASSO CREATURE
that contains a lot of ugly, disparate curves and no coherent design elements that might have united them into an aesthetic whole. Picasso should probably have stuck with flat art, which he was great at, because he didn't seem to get the hang of 3-dimensional works.

Do you think one has to see ugly art
in order to be able to recognize
and truly appreciate
the beautiful works of excellence?

I don't think so.
Then why did I post this ugly art?
I have no idea.

Do you think it's better for a city to have lots of ugly public art, than no public art at all?

YES

Ugly art opens the door to more art
some of which (as it has in Chicago)
will then turn out to be beautiful.
Like this
ANISH KAPOOR
sculpture.

MILLENNIUM
CHALLENGE
CORPORATION
///MCC\\\

The MCC, established in 2004 by President Bush, has distributed more than $3 billion dollars for specific projects within the nations of Armenia, Benin, Cape Verde, Georgia, Ghana, Honduras, Madagascar, Nicaraqua, El Salvador, Vanuatu, and this week, in Mali..........where $460 million dollars is to be used for the creation of a 247-acre industrial park to bolster their economy, the re-building of their major airport to create support stations for farm-produce, and the permanent irrigation of 62 square miles of farmland.

I would like to know what the other countries are doing with these MCC funds, which in my view, are a better way to assist struggling people, than all those totally wasted lump-sum foreign aid billions we keep depositing into the bottomless pockets of criminal governments which never use any of it to improve the lives of their people.

How come we hear so little about this corporation?

Why is hardly anyone bothering to report on it?

Would it kill us to create some positive publicity for ourselves?

We should announce the recipients with international press releases.
Much like those of the Nobel Prize.
Because they're equally worthy of world-wide attention!

PITBULL OWNERS MORE LIKELY
TO BE CRIMINALS
REUTERS
11-20-2006

people who own vicious dogs such as pit bulls, have significantly more criminal convictions - including crimes against children - than owners of licensed, gentler dogs such as beagles, poodles, or collies, American researchers report.

And 30 percent of people who owned an aggressive breed dog, and who also had been cited at least once for failing to register it, had at least five criminal convictions or traffic citations.

"Owners of vicious dogs who have been cited for failing to register a dog or failing to keep a dog confined on the premises - are ten times more likely to have been convicted for a crime involving children, three times more likely to have been convicted of domestic violence - and nearly eight times more likely to be charged with drug crimes, than owners of low-risk, licensed dogs." said Jaclyn Barnes of Cinicinnnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre.

Barnes and colleagues used public records to check on the criminal pasts of dog owners.

"One can argue that choosing to own a vicious dog is a marker of social deviance, because a vicious dog is, by definition, a socially deviant animal." said Barbara Boat, director of The Childhood Trust.

The researches said that their findings could be useful for social and law enforcement workers.

HIGHWAY
DELIBERATIONS
I___/O\___I

The most unusual thing occurred, yesterday. About a mile or so outside my town, hundreds of cars were standing still, some continueing to run their engines and to edge forward with each empty, ten-foot piece of road that appeared in front of them, as if that one little piece of highway conquered, would lead them on to some kind of ultimate victory.

This New-York-style mile of cars standing still on the desert highway of my itty-bitty town, was so unusual an event, that I immediately thought of terrorist attacks and other calamities, so I got out of my car in the hope of finding someone with a cellphone who might have connected to someone in town and therefore knew what had happened there.

When I started to walk over to the little silver sportscar behind me, I heard the click of locks being closed to prevent my entry and to protect the woman sitting behind her steering wheel, so I turned away from her and walked towards the van in front of me, where its driver, who according to his company sign was a plumber, responded to my inquiry without turning his face to look at me. We talked for perhaps 5 minutes, speculated on what might have happened in town, wondered about alternate roads leading into it, and parted on friendly terms when I went back to my own car, and wondered why this plumber kept staring straight ahead, while we spoke, and had never once turned his face sideways, so he'd be able to see the woman he'd been talking to.

I got back in my own car, played some music, and watched the highway. Except for one single figure in the distance, no other person had stepped out of their vehicle, even though we'd all been standing still for more than 20 minutes, by now. I again got out of my car and started to walk around just to break this strange, almost inhuman spell of mile-long isolationism.

People's behavior had been quite similar during the gathering I had just attended. Even though they were free to do as they pleased and were not sitting alone inside their cars, their emotional locks were repeatedly clicked shut against "the other" with remarks uttered to create an immediate distance from whoever tried to cross an invisible line. This seemed to be so predominant, that I found myself standing silently among the crowd of talkers, hoping to get some understanding of their fear or whatever else it was, that demanded such self-protective measures.

The woman in the sportscar, saw another woman walking towards her on a highway, and became afraid.

The artsy crowd at the gathering, were everyone else was also an artsy type, seemed similarly, to be afraid.

The line of cars began to move again, and pretty soon, we all passed flickering police lights, ambulances, and a burned-out crash site. Then we all drove on to wherever we'd been headed, and no one got to talk to anyone else, even though hundreds of individuals had shared the same experience.

This is a whole new phenomenon.
What has caused it to manifest?

Is it a result of fear?

The constant thought that terrorists
might be standing among us?

THE DARK SECRET
OF
MATERNAL ABUSE
_/ M \_

I watched a mother's abuse, yesterday. Her back was turned to me, so she didn't see me standing behind her, where I had been for quite a while, finding myself unable to move at the sight of this woman talking into a cellphone with her left hand, while barely holding a tiny little boy upside down, with her right hand. The kid was moaning, but she paid it no attention. She held it, like one would hold a handful of dirty laundry. Then she turned around and saw me. I did or said nothing, yet she quickly ended her phone conversation, turned her child rightside-up again, and kissed its little cheek. After that, this mother kept "accidentally" passing me with the little boy held close to her chest, while she continued to deliver little kisses to his cheeks.

After a while, I left the store and thought I had forgotten about her. Yet hours later, I started to think about how totally alone-with-her-children a mother usually is, and how she can commit the most awful forms of abuse without anyone ever knowing about it.

Our society's focus has been on male abuse exclusively. Even when a woman drowned her children one by one, there seemed to be little outrage. Somehow, women have been left alone to do as they please. No one threatens to expose them. No one issues warnings against them. No one even bothers to talk about mothers and children and all the scary, spooky, abusive behavior that might and does occur inside the private cubicle of those relationships.

For every child on earth, its mother holds the key to life itself, and no child will ever complain about her or expose her tyranny. No matter how abusive she may be. And now that society has colluded with the mother to protect her secret abuse, it may have gone completely out of control.
I don't know.
Nobody knows.
But I'm coming across incidents of maternal abuse more and more often, and I'm afraid to even think about what the implications of this, are.

As far as I'm concerned, the entire place is corrupt.

It ought to be cleaned out and started from scratch, but it never will, of course, so I guess they'll just bumble on and on and on and on.........dragging us ever further into a morass of failure and despair.

I can't even think about it.

TERRORIST
UPDATE
------] T [------

Last week, in Oaxaca, Mexico, terrorists exploded several gasoline bombs into a Burger King restaurant.

Yesterday, in Oaxaca, Mexico, terrorists exploded several gasoline bombs into a McDonald's restaurant.

The protests in Oaxaca, Mexico, were originally started by local teachers on strike for higher salaries. They then transmuted into protests against the regional government.

How are either of those issues connected to those 2 restaurants or to the United States?

IN NO WAY.

Except that the city's terrorists are having a great time being terrorists, and
pretty soon they'll graduate
to killings and beheadings.

WANNA BET?

-------] T [-------

In Baghdad, hundreds of dead bodies seem to appear out of nowhere, every morning.

I've developed a theory about that:

The average amount of people dying of illness and old age in a city's population of about 2 million, is about 500 to 1500.
Funerals are expensive.
Even in Baghdad.
But the Americans provide really nice plastic bags and lots of burial-moneys for the dead
"killed by terrorists"
so I'm thinking that the population is depositing its deceased relatives on the streets. That way, everybody in Baghdad gets a really nice plastic bag and a really nice funeral plot,
courtesy of the
Red, White, and Blue.

VETERAN'S DAY
ANTICS
x/\x

To honor America's war veterans, CNN interspersed its weekend programming with flashing numbers of how many troops have died in Iraq so far, and with cruelly graphic, real-life images, of wounded & returned US troops trying to walk on one leg, on half a leg, or on no legs at all.

All that this manages to reveal, is the profound abyss of CNN's malvolent narcissists, who care more about expressing their own evil impulses, than about respecting the sensibilities of our military troops and their families.

x/\x

Myself, I went to a small-town gun show, where I bought my very first weapon:
a gadget that will totally paralize any
two-or-four-legged-monster
which has the audacity to threaten and/or endanger me.

I also bought a cool stick-on sign that asks:

2,000 LAWS
TO
ENFORCE
THE
10
COMMANDMENTS?

Then I watched a nice, romantic movie in which there was zero violence and many beautiful images of a mother's affectionate caring for her child, something most women seem to have forgotten how to do.

MISOGYNY
MISANDRY
MISANTHROPE
STOMMERIKKEN
=/\=

It took me years of repeated dictionary-checking, to remember what "misogyny" was (hatred for women) and how it was spelled. And I never did get the hang of it.

So now, a lot of people have started to use the word "misandry" (hatred for men)thereby sending me back to my dictionary and to not remembering how to spell the damn thing.

When will they once again pick up on the word "misanthrope" (hatred for all humans) and drive everybody nuts?

I'll never understand why people use tons of obfuscation (hah!) when their aim "seems" to be for others to hear what they're saying and to take them seriously. I can't relate to any sentence that contains the words "misogyny" or "misandry" or "misanthrope" or "stommerikken"......and I wish people would stop trying to sound smarter than they obviously are. Like if they're talking about women who hate men, why can't they simply use the words that are designed to perfectly express this, i.e. man-haters?

That'll force no one to run to a dictionary.

And that'll allow everybody to understand what the flock they're talking about!

For just in case you ran to your own dictionary to look up "stommerikken" and couldn't find it.......it means
"idiots"
in
Dutch

POSSE
COMITATUS
KAPUTUS
???

On October 17, 2006, President Bush seems to have signed
PUBLIC LAW 109-364
or
"The Defense Authorization Act of 2007"
which
allows any American President to declare a
PUBLIC EMERGENCY
and to station troops anywhere in the U.S. to suppress public disorder.
(which some say includes the detention
of illegal aliens)

I googled this law and found a whole lot of Latino websites that seem to be enraged about it.
I am not.
One of the reasons I am not, is because of the tens of thousands of Latinos who marched on our streets, last summer, shouting:
"WE are America!"
and
"Go back to Europe, Yankees!"
and
"We've come to take back what belongs to US!"

Another reason why I'm not opposed to this law, is because I was shocked to discover that we could send our Marines all the way to Indonesia to help rescue the tsunami victims there, but that we were not allowed by law, to use those same Marines (or any other troops) to help rescue our own Katrina victims.

Paul Nathanson and Katherine Young
have written this book, the complete title of which, is

"Spreading Misandry:
The Teaching of Contempt for Men in
Popular Culture"

which gets my award for being one of the longest, most convoluted titles ever. Why don't people get it, that if you want others to become interested in what you have to say, you might want to say it as succinctly as possible?

Anyway, here's a thoroughly informative
REVIEW
of a book that's long overdue.

Another academic working in this area, is Dr. Murray Straus of the University of New Hampshire, but since all his
ARTICLES
are in PDF files and since I don't allow PDF files to open up on my beloved Mac, I have no idea what his focus of inquiry is, so you'll have to investigate him by yourself, OK?

THINGS THAT STRENGTHEN
YOUR
IMMUNE SYSTEM
OOO

-- 1 --
ANTI-OXYDANTS
like coffee, tea, and blueberries, are your defence force against
FREE RADICALS
which at first are like a protective army enlisted by your own body to destroy noxious organisms, but that, after
they've run out of enemies, begin to feed on your healthy cells.

-- 2 --
SELENIUM
is a key nutrient for immunity.
It protects against toxic metals, environmental carcinogens, and tumor formation.
Selenium stimulates your immune system to destroy free radicals, and keeps viruses from multiplying.
You don't need much of it.
About 25mg a day is plenty.
Selenium works better if taken together with
vitamin E and vitamin A.

-- 3 --
ZINC
boosts your immune system by developing white blood cells that fight off bacteria, viruses, and infections.
Zinc is vital to enzyme functioning, vision, taste, smell, prostate functions, and the destruction of free radicals.
Zinc can be found in steak, eggs, milk, and sunflower seeds.
You don't need much of it.
About 15 mg a day, is plenty.

-- 4 --
POTASSIUM
protects your muscles and your nervous system.
It's easy to get plenty of it from baked potatoes with the skin left on, bananas, oranges, wheatgerm, raisins, nuts, milk, seafood, and kidney beans.

-- 5 --
VITAMIN B12
maintains your nervous system, your spinal cord, and your red bloodcell-production.
Vitamin B12 is difficult if not impossible, to get from pills.
Since you don't need much of it, and since your body will store it for several months, you'll always have enough B12 if you eat some
BEEF LIVER
every 3 months.

-- 6 --
YOGURT
boosts your immune system by introducing healthy bacteria that keep your intestines free of old and rotting food particles.
Most supermarket yogurts are a fake, and it's my own personal opinion that only
DANNON YOGURT
can be trusted to contain genuine, active, yogurt cultures.
So it's wise to read the label
of every brand you purchase.

-- 7 --
DOLOMITE
contains the perfect 2-to-1 ratio of Calcium and Magnesium,
which function sort of like the body's "spark plugs".
Our muscles can't operate without them -- this includes the heart muscle -- and they maintain the strength & durability of our bones.
Both Calcium and Magnesium release anti-stress hormones.
Among many other virtues, Dolomite is also credited with preventing bloodclot formation.

THINGS THAT HARM
YOUR
IMMUNE SYSTEM
XXX

Wow! This was a fast year! Winter is about to
return again, so I thought I'd re-post my advice for
protecting
the immune-system.

-- 1 --
LACK OF OXYGEN
weakens the immune system.
Since oxygen destroys germs, viruses, free radicals, and many other disease-causing organisms,
it's wise to re-oxygenate your entire system every day by
doing some uninterrupted,
deep-breathing-in-and-out-exercises.
You can do this while sitting still or while walking, as long as you do it non-stop for about 5 minutes, after which you'll feel warmth surging throughout your entire body, and all your muscular aches and pains will begin to vanish.

-- 2 --
LACK OF WATER
compromises your immune system.
Most people are in a perpetual state of dehydration.
To avoid this, drink at least 2 or 3 quarts of water daily, and make sure you do, by pre-filling 2 or 3 quart-bottles every single morning, so you can see how much you've had.

-- 3 --
PARASITES & FUNGUS ORGANISMS
can be eradicated by eating one clove of raw garlic, some pumpkin seeds, and a few slices of raw or sugar-coated ginger root, every day.

-- 4 --
LACK OF REST & SLEEP
will destroy your immune system faster than just about anything else, so give your body plenty of time to renew itself.

-- 5 --
SELF ABUSE
and self-accusations or destructive forms of anger towards others, pumps your system full of adrenalin which, having nowhere to go, hangs around and creates havoc throughout your body.
Control your desire to rage, because it serves no purpose.
