. DAILY SHOW I don't know what happened to Jon Stewart. He seems to have changed. He no longer pouts with childish petulance. He's laughing for real. It's nice, and I've started to watch his show again. Last night, the newly-elected Illinois Congressman Rahm Emanuel, who co-authored a book titled "The Plan".....made a guest appearance and made these cutting-edge comparisons between President Roosevelt and President Bush: Roosevelt inherited -----|x|----- Roosevelt inherited a divided country WOW! =======

. THEY C-Span, last night, showed a somewhat unusual presentation during which some of the cast, writers, and producers of the television show "24" were interviewed and then asked questions by their audience. The "24" people seemed somewhat petulant, but what the hell......they're not supposed to be intellectual giants - they just manufacture entertainment. I was surprised that the words "truth" or "muslims" were never mentioned, and I remembered with annoyance how they had started out really great by including both "truth" and "muslims" in their once still accurate and therefore fascinating representations, which then, suddenly, ceased to be accurate and fascinating, after which I stopped watching what had become just one more vacuous show. Finally, someone in the audience sort of indirectly inquired about this, after which a member of the "24" panel sort of indirectly explained the show's changes with this utterly amazing and highly troubling sentence: "We took a meeting with CAIR." I knew without knowing, that this is what occurred, back then. But it's still hard to believe that our arrogant producers and directors are such profound cowards, that they would allow their productions to be straightjacketed by "A meeting with CAIR" =======

Hamas, meanwhile, after receiving 165 million dollars from our two-faced buddies in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Kuwait, and The Emirates, is ready to start the planned, 3-prong war against Israel, that they've all been longing to initiate. While all this is happening right in front of everyone's eyes, the stommerikken in the West are saying that they want to have intellectual conversations with all the terrorist entities that threaten the entire rest of the world. . MILLENNIUM The MCC, established in 2004 by President Bush, has distributed more than $3 billion dollars for specific projects within the nations of Armenia, Benin, Cape Verde, Georgia, Ghana, Honduras, Madagascar, Nicaraqua, El Salvador, Vanuatu, and this week, in Mali..........where $460 million dollars is to be used for the creation of a 247-acre industrial park to bolster their economy, the re-building of their major airport to create support stations for farm-produce, and the permanent irrigation of 62 square miles of farmland. I would like to know what the other countries are doing with these MCC funds, which in my view, are a better way to assist struggling people, than all those totally wasted lump-sum foreign aid billions we keep depositing into the bottomless pockets of criminal governments which never use any of it to improve the lives of their people. How come we hear so little about this corporation? Why is hardly anyone bothering to report on it? Would it kill us to create some positive publicity for ourselves? We should announce the recipients with international press releases. =======

. PITBULL OWNERS MORE LIKELY people who own vicious dogs such as pit bulls, have significantly more criminal convictions - including crimes against children - than owners of licensed, gentler dogs such as beagles, poodles, or collies, American researchers report. And 30 percent of people who owned an aggressive breed dog, and who also had been cited at least once for failing to register it, had at least five criminal convictions or traffic citations. "Owners of vicious dogs who have been cited for failing to register a dog or failing to keep a dog confined on the premises - are ten times more likely to have been convicted for a crime involving children, three times more likely to have been convicted of domestic violence - and nearly eight times more likely to be charged with drug crimes, than owners of low-risk, licensed dogs." said Jaclyn Barnes of Cinicinnnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre. Barnes and colleagues used public records to check on the criminal pasts of dog owners. "One can argue that choosing to own a vicious dog is a marker of social deviance, because a vicious dog is, by definition, a socially deviant animal." said Barbara Boat, director of The Childhood Trust. The researches said that their findings could be useful for social and law enforcement workers. =======

. HIGHWAY The most unusual thing occurred, yesterday. About a mile or so outside my town, hundreds of cars were standing still, some continueing to run their engines and to edge forward with each empty, ten-foot piece of road that appeared in front of them, as if that one little piece of highway conquered, would lead them on to some kind of ultimate victory. This New-York-style mile of cars standing still on the desert highway of my itty-bitty town, was so unusual an event, that I immediately thought of terrorist attacks and other calamities, so I got out of my car in the hope of finding someone with a cellphone who might have connected to someone in town and therefore knew what had happened there. When I started to walk over to the little silver sportscar behind me, I heard the click of locks being closed to prevent my entry and to protect the woman sitting behind her steering wheel, so I turned away from her and walked towards the van in front of me, where its driver, who according to his company sign was a plumber, responded to my inquiry without turning his face to look at me. We talked for perhaps 5 minutes, speculated on what might have happened in town, wondered about alternate roads leading into it, and parted on friendly terms when I went back to my own car, and wondered why this plumber kept staring straight ahead, while we spoke, and had never once turned his face sideways, so he'd be able to see the woman he'd been talking to. I got back in my own car, played some music, and watched the highway. Except for one single figure in the distance, no other person had stepped out of their vehicle, even though we'd all been standing still for more than 20 minutes, by now. I again got out of my car and started to walk around just to break this strange, almost inhuman spell of mile-long isolationism. People's behavior had been quite similar during the gathering I had just attended. Even though they were free to do as they pleased and were not sitting alone inside their cars, their emotional locks were repeatedly clicked shut against "the other" with remarks uttered to create an immediate distance from whoever tried to cross an invisible line. This seemed to be so predominant, that I found myself standing silently among the crowd of talkers, hoping to get some understanding of their fear or whatever else it was, that demanded such self-protective measures. The woman in the sportscar, saw another woman walking towards her on a highway, and became afraid. The artsy crowd at the gathering, were everyone else was also an artsy type, seemed similarly, to be afraid. The line of cars began to move again, and pretty soon, we all passed flickering police lights, ambulances, and a burned-out crash site. Then we all drove on to wherever we'd been headed, and no one got to talk to anyone else, even though hundreds of individuals had shared the same experience. This is a whole new phenomenon. Is it a result of fear? The constant thought that terrorists =======

. THE DARK SECRET I watched a mother's abuse, yesterday. Her back was turned to me, so she didn't see me standing behind her, where I had been for quite a while, finding myself unable to move at the sight of this woman talking into a cellphone with her left hand, while barely holding a tiny little boy upside down, with her right hand. The kid was moaning, but she paid it no attention. She held it, like one would hold a handful of dirty laundry. Then she turned around and saw me. I did or said nothing, yet she quickly ended her phone conversation, turned her child rightside-up again, and kissed its little cheek. After that, this mother kept "accidentally" passing me with the little boy held close to her chest, while she continued to deliver little kisses to his cheeks. After a while, I left the store and thought I had forgotten about her. Yet hours later, I started to think about how totally alone-with-her-children a mother usually is, and how she can commit the most awful forms of abuse without anyone ever knowing about it. Our society's focus has been on male abuse exclusively. Even when a woman drowned her children one by one, there seemed to be little outrage. Somehow, women have been left alone to do as they please. No one threatens to expose them. No one issues warnings against them. No one even bothers to talk about mothers and children and all the scary, spooky, abusive behavior that might and does occur inside the private cubicle of those relationships. For every child on earth, its mother holds the key to life itself, and no child will ever complain about her or expose her tyranny. No matter how abusive she may be. And now that society has colluded with the mother to protect her secret abuse, it may have gone completely out of control. =======

. TERRORIST Last week, in Oaxaca, Mexico, terrorists exploded several gasoline bombs into a Burger King restaurant. Yesterday, in Oaxaca, Mexico, terrorists exploded several gasoline bombs into a McDonald's restaurant. The protests in Oaxaca, Mexico, were originally started by local teachers on strike for higher salaries. They then transmuted into protests against the regional government. How are either of those issues connected to those 2 restaurants or to the United States? IN NO WAY. Except that the city's terrorists are having a great time being terrorists, and WANNA BET? -------] T [------- In Baghdad, hundreds of dead bodies seem to appear out of nowhere, every morning. . VETERAN'S DAY To honor America's war veterans, CNN interspersed its weekend programming with flashing numbers of how many troops have died in Iraq so far, and with cruelly graphic, real-life images, of wounded & returned US troops trying to walk on one leg, on half a leg, or on no legs at all. All that this manages to reveal, is the profound abyss of CNN's malvolent narcissists, who care more about expressing their own evil impulses, than about respecting the sensibilities of our military troops and their families. x/\x Myself, I went to a small-town gun show, where I bought my very first weapon: I also bought a cool stick-on sign that asks: 2,000 LAWS Then I watched a nice, romantic movie in which there was zero violence and many beautiful images of a mother's affectionate caring for her child, something most women seem to have forgotten how to do. =======

. MISOGYNY It took me years of repeated dictionary-checking, to remember what "misogyny" was (hatred for women) and how it was spelled. And I never did get the hang of it. So now, a lot of people have started to use the word "misandry" (hatred for men)thereby sending me back to my dictionary and to not remembering how to spell the damn thing. When will they once again pick up on the word "misanthrope" (hatred for all humans) and drive everybody nuts? I'll never understand why people use tons of obfuscation (hah!) when their aim "seems" to be for others to hear what they're saying and to take them seriously. I can't relate to any sentence that contains the words "misogyny" or "misandry" or "misanthrope" or "stommerikken"......and I wish people would stop trying to sound smarter than they obviously are. Like if they're talking about women who hate men, why can't they simply use the words that are designed to perfectly express this, i.e. man-haters? That'll force no one to run to a dictionary. And that'll allow everybody to understand what the flock they're talking about! For just in case you ran to your own dictionary to look up "stommerikken" and couldn't find it.......it means Wednesday, November 8, 2006
